This is the second year that my brother, Scott, and I have made the trip down to Uvalde, Texas to hunt with Border Bandit Outfitters. This year was a tough hunt, since we had 11 guys show up (instead of the five we had last year). Still it turned out OK. There were four of us hunting for a trophy axis, and two were taken. I was one of the guys who didn’t take one, although I did put some meat in the freezer on the last day.
Big fun, and I’ll be doing it again next year.
By the way, the hunt is over baited areas, but there are no high fences. These exotic species are thriving all over the Texas Hill Country.
